Govardhan Puja is a Hindu festival that is celebrated a day after Diwali. It is also referred to as the Annakoot Puja by the devotees. Devotees prepare lavish Annakutfood preparations consisting of 56 items called Annakoot to please Krishna. The Puja is dedicated to the day when Lord Krishna (eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu) came to the aid of his fellow villagers by lifting a mountain on his little finger! For the first time at the Hindu temple we will celebrate this beautiful festival with a variety of  56 different Prasadam (Bhog). This effort is being led by the Gujarati Group of the Woodlands. HTW invites you to join this special offering to Lord Krishna!! If you plan on bringing prasad please contact Falguni Modh at bmodh@yahoo.com.

Prasad offering times will be 10:00 am – 1:00 pm in the morning and after 5 pm in the evening.
